Devon Police are treating an attack on a boat in Kingsbridge on 21 July as criminal damage with intent to endanger life. Drunken youths threw beer cans, coins and food at the yacht Zena, moored on Kingsbridge's new visitors' pontoon, and then lobbed a lighted barbecue aboard scattering burning charcoal across the boat. The owners, who were in the cabin when the attack took place, were shocked by the incident, but fortunately damage to the boat was limited to burns on the deck, a spray hood, and a mattress.
